Weaning Story


Our breastfeeding journey has come to an end. The weaning process takes a year. Actually we have tried two or thee times before, but we couldnt't make it. The right time comes when me, Bintang and his dad are ready. Even it started from the nursing strike, Bintang refuse to breasfed without drama. No tantrum, no cry.

Bintang has stop breastfeed for 12 days. He enjoys his "new life". And now, after 3 years 17 days, we're proud we could stand in the finish line. This journey is unforgettable, for the three of us. Despite all the tears and bad times, we could feel that all the love and sweet memories linger on. Hopefully, Bintang could get all the goodness of the breastmilk from this breastfeeding journey.

Our special thank goes to Mbah. She is the one who gave the breastmilk without bottle. She used cuupfeeder and spoonfeeder without any complaint. I know it is not that easy to do so, but she can make it true.

To all our breastfeeding supporters, million thanks for you. Without you, this journey wouldn't be like this.

* This (nursing on the bus) photo taken last yearm during our trip to Taman Safari Indonesia II, Prigen, Pasuruan. I used to breastfeed Bintang anytime, anywhere :D

** I deliberately wrote this today, because actually I have been away from Bintang about one week for business trip but Bintang asked me to breastfeed him when I returned. I think this success story should be told after that period :D

Nasi Pupuk

Nasi Pupuk adalah Nasi Campur khas Madiun. Biasa ada di resepsi perkawinan dengan konsep tradisional, bukan prasmanan. Makanya biasa juga disebut Nasi Manten. Isinya adalah sambal goreng (bisa sambel goreng kentang, krecek, ati, daging, atau printil), opor ayam (bisa juga diganti opor telur), acar mentah dan krupuk udang. Berhubung sudah lama tidak ke mantenan tradisional, jadi aku sudah lama banget tidak menikmatinya. So, membuat sendirilah pilihannya. Soalnya tidak ada mantenan dalam waktu dekat juga. Hehehe. Alhamdulillah bisa makan dengan puas :) Happy cooking, happy eating.
